Recycling & Bulky Waste Instructions
All items below must weigh less than 50 pounds, be containerized or tied,
and be less than 4 feet long. Bulky Waste, Grass, Recycling, and Garbage
shall not be put out before 7:00 PM on the night before the pick-up day.
Bulky Waste
The following items are considered bulky waste and should not be put in with normal garbage:
Furniture
Rugs
Mattresses
Tires
Sheet rock and other construction debris
(not generated by a contractor)
Branches
(over 1/2 inch diameter)
and stumps
Brush
No concrete, stones, metal
No household garbage or items listed as recyclable below
Recycling
The following items are recyclable and should not be put in the garbage or with bulky waste:
Newspapers
(tied separately)
Cardboard
(tied separately)
Magazines
(tied separately)
Telephone Books
Mixed Paper/Junk Mail
Cereal and Gift Boxes
Brown Paper Bags and Chipboard
Aluminum, Tin and Bi-Metal Cans
Glass and Plastic Bottles
(Type 1, 2, and 3 stamped on bottom)
Empty Aerosol Cans
Milk and Juice Cartons
Empty Latex and Oil-base Paint Cans
(Lids off)
Household Batteries
The following items are picked up by the Borough for a handling fee

Grass Clippings
Grass clippings are picked up curbside with the following guidelines:
Place in open containers
(not larger than 35 gallons and/or 70 pounds)
No plastic bags
(biodegradable bags are permitted)
Twigs may be included
(no larger than 1/2 inch diameter, 3 feet long)
Leaves
Leaves are picked up curbside during November and December with the following guidelines:
Loose leaves are picked up at the edge of the curb
(not in the street)
Leaves can be bagged
(not tied)
and left near the curb
Leaves can be dropped off at the
D.P.W.
Yard from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM daily
