Donation of Book Of Records

Roselle Park Historian, Pat Pagnetti, found the letter below in the Roselle
Park archives which describes the wishes of Sarah L. Cummins, wife to Roselle
Park's first Mayor, John Cummins, to have the book of records from the town's
first council become the property of the town.
Stop in to the
Roselle Park Museum to see the original
book recorded by hand by the first Mayor.
June 26, 1926
To the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Roselle Park.
Gentlemen:
It is my wish that the book containing the records of the founding of the
Borough of Roselle Park and its first council, which was arranged by my husband
during his term of office as its first Mayor, become the property of Roselle
Park. I have preserved the book with this idea in mind and therefore take great
pleasure in presenting it to the Borough on behalf of myself and my son.
I hope that these records may prove to be of interest and value to the
people of the Borough of Roselle Park, and remain
Sincerely yours,
Sarah L. Cummins |
